Summary:
This story is about wooden creatures who live in a wooden town created by a man named Eli. The wooden people walked around every day giving each other either dots or stars. The ones who were special got stars, the ones who were ugly or had scratches got dots. One character named Pinchenello always got dots. He got dots for everything that he did. One day he met a girl who didn't have any stars or dots. She said that she had been going to Eli everyday and that if he did then Eli could help him. The next day Pinchenello ges to see Eli. Eli tells him that he is special because he made him and that he shouldn't care what the other wooden people thought. As Pinchenello started to leave a dot fell off.

Everyone because it has a wonderful message that everyone should always remember; we shouldn't care about what other people think and that we are special no matter what.

My reaction:
I loved this book ever since I heard it the first time. I love the message behind it all. Its so important and it puts the message in a story that is fun to read with characters that are fun to look at.
