Summary:
In the second book of Harry Potter, Harry comes back to the school of Hogwarts. During his second year a new adventure arises when students through the school are being petrified. When the students become petrified they freeze instantly. The school will have to be closed down if something is not done to stop it. Harry Potter and his two friends step in when the case needs to be solved. They soon learn after Hermione gets petrified that it is a large snake that is petrifying all the students. Harry and Ron soon find that the snake is in the chamber of secrets. Harry is able to find the chamber. Ron gets stuck behind during this journey with a cowardly professor, he stays behind to try and dig a way for them to get out in the end. Harry continues forward and finds Ron's sister in the chamber petrified. He also finds another person; Lord Voldemort in the form of a young student. Harry is then forced to fight against Lord Voldemorts snake. Harry soon defeats the snake and is left injured with Ron's sister. Lord Voldemort says to Harry that Harry and Ron's sister will soon die because of the venom from the snake. However, Harry turns to find a notebook in Ron's sisters hands. He takes the book and destroys the book. Fortuneately this book was the key for Lord Voldemorts transformation into a young student. As Harry destroys the notebook, Lord Voldemort starts to fall apart and the young student is destroyed. Soon after that Ron's sister was healed and so was Harry. They are flown out of the chamber and up to the castle, where Hogwarts was able to remain open.
My Reaction:
I really enjoyed reading the second book. I loved how it was twisted to having Ron's sister be the one in the chamber. I like how all the clues came together in the end and everything made sense. The characters continued to do a great job and the author did a great job in describing the setting.
Who would benefit from this book?
Everyone who loves magic, suspense, and action!
What problems might this book cause?
The only problem would be to the reader if they didn't know what is real and whats not real.
