Genre: Nonfiction biography
Summary:
In the photobiography of Lincoln, discusses his whole life story of becoming one of America's greatest leaders. The book talks about Lincoln and how he truly was. There are many misconceptions of how Lincoln acted and what he was like. This book goes through and was able to clarify how he really was. An example would be that Lincoln was a funny guy. He had a great sense of humor and he loved his family very much. He wasn't always a strict and uptight kind of person. He even was able to make a joke about his own looks. This book also has many pictures of Lincoln while he was in his term of office. The pictures are wonderful to look at because it gives a better idea of what he looked like and the things he did.
My reaction:
I enjoyed this book very much. I thought that it made reading about one of the presidents more interesting than others. This book I believe made it more interesting because there were pictures, it had bigger font, and the reading wasn't made out to be complicated at all.
Who might benefit from this book?
I think that any one would. Even adults would probably enjoy reading this book because you can learn so much about Lincoln rather than reading a huge book about his history. Children could easily read this book as well. I think that it should be 12+ because of some of the graphic pictures and some of the writings about the wars that Lincoln had to go through.
What problems might this book cause?
None, because this book is about things that actually happened.
